How To Build An Airtable-Powered Glide App
Happy Friday!
This week, I've got three things for you:
- I just released a YouTube video on "How to build an Airtable-Powered Glide App."
- Here’s a snapshot of the latest tutorials in MVMP Labs (we’re currently in closed beta, but we’ll open it up to the public soon).
- Project spotlight: Tutorlyft – helping Canadian students connect with local tutors.
Let's dive in!
New YouTube Video: How To Build an Airtable-Powered Glide App
I just released a new video on building user portals with Glide, connected directly to Airtable—no coding required! Whether you’re working on a job board, a marketplace, or any project needing a clean user interface, Glide has been one of my go-to no-code tools this past year. I use it to manage user portals for Unicorn Factory, and my clients love it for their own projects too.
In this video, you’ll learn how to:
1. Set up Airtable as the data source for your Glide app.
2. Configure user accounts and sync data automatically.
3. Customize your app’s interface with screens and lists.
4. Build key features like job applications and profile management.
5. Set role-based permissions for different user types.
Check it out and let me know what you think! If you find these tutorials helpful, I’ll keep making more.
New Tutorials in MVMP Labs
As I mentioned in my last email, I’ve decided to move all my courses from Podia to a brand new Circle community. We’re still in an invite-only phase while we fine-tune things, but if you’d like to join early, just fill out this form, and I’ll reach out.
In the meantime, here’s what we published this week:
- 5 new Webflow tutorials, including a step-by-step guide on mapping Airtable fields to Webflow, using the Webflow API docs, tracking form submissions on CMS pages, and more.
- 1 Playbook update: How to automatically generate open graph images for your Webflow CMS landing pages.
- 2 new tool/feature reviews: How to generate AI CMS items in Webflow, and a comparison of Circle vs Skool (also available on YouTube).
In the coming weeks, we’ll be hosting our first live event, where we’ll dive into a highly requested Glide feature for marketplace, job board, and directory sites. Stay tuned!
Project Spotlight: TutorLyft
Starting this week, I’ll be spotlighting some incredible projects from our community. First up is TutorLyft—a marketplace for finding local tutors in Canada.
TutorLyft was founded by one of our Mastermind members, Omar. After a great experience with a tutor himself, Omar wanted to make it easier for students to find reliable tutors. In just six weeks, he went from idea to a live MVP, and now the platform processes hundreds of bookings each month.
Tools Used:
- Webflow: Marketing site / Front-end
- Airtable: Database
- Make.com: Automation
- Glide: Tutor portal
- Cal.com: Calendar bookings
How It Works:
- Students browse the TutorLyft directory to book 1:1 sessions with vetted tutors.
- Each tutor has a video showcasing their teaching philosophy, and students can book directly into their calendars.
- TutorLyft charges a transaction fee on each booking.
On a personal note, Omar has been absolutely crushing it. I’m especially impressed with the creative lead magnets he’s using to attract students. I’m very bullish on TutorLyft’s future!
